What will I learn?
Our graduates have organisational skills, they are creative and can implement ideas independently. At the same time, they are communicative and team players, have a basic understanding of business and economics, event conception, marketing, event technology and event law. They work in a target group-oriented and topic-specific manner, are networkers and have knowledge of associated disciplines. Their professional activities include basic technical understanding, commercial thinking, media competence and intercultural sensitivity. In elective specialisations such as (1) trade fairs, exhibitions and congresses, (2) sport and leisure, (3) hotel and tourism or (4) art and culture, they have expanded and deepened this knowledge and skills. In a practical phase in the fourth semester, they were able to get first-hand experience of everyday working life for five months. In numerous practical projects during their course as well as during actual work for customers, they put theory they had learned to the test.

They also gain specialised expertise in marketing, communications, methodology and media use. The fourth semester involves an internship that will provide early practical experience in the context of projects and corporate-related work. Depending on their personal preferences, in the second study phase students choose a core subject from the industry, such as Trade Fairs, Exhibitions and Conferences.
The programme stands for solid theoretical foundations as well as a great degree of practical orientation. Hands-on exercises round out lectures and seminars. Project work, excursions and lectures by external teachers from the event industry ensure a close connection to current developments in the event-management business.
Apart from conveying subject-specific knowledge, our teachers focus on the development and fostering of students’ social, cultural and personal skills. Guest lectures and workshops by professionals from theory and practice round out the spectrum of knowledge.
