The artistic printmaking workshops offer courses as part of the elective programme of 'Overarching Teaching', in which students gain insight into the technical possibilities as well as the creative methodologies of the printmaking techniques screen printing, etching and letterpress.
Outside of the course times, we support students in the realisation of individual projects.
We are your contact when it comes to printing on special materials, for example for prototype production or for finishing final theses.
As a rule, the artistic print workshops are open at the following times and by appointment.
Monday - Thursday 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Friday 9:00 - 12:00 a.m.
We will be happy to clarify with you in a consultation whether the screen printing process is suitable for your material to be printed. Please plan with a generous lead time.
Please contact me / us for a consultation.
The screen printing workshop is equipped with 3 screen printing tables for hand printing. All facilities for digital and analogue production of exposure films are available. The intaglio and letterpress workshop is equipped with 3 printing presses that can be used for the techniques of etching, linocut and woodcut.
Further equipment
Further equipment in the workshop includes a cutting plotter and a large-format passepartout cutter.
For many materials to be printed, special ink systems are required that we do not have in stock. As a rule, test prints are necessary to check the compatibility of ink and substrate. Times for ink procurement and test prints should therefore be taken into account in your time management.
We do not stock passe-partout boxes and you should obtain them yourself. For larger projects, we can assist you with ordering.
The same applies to foils that are to be processed with the cutting plotter. As the requirement profiles for adhesive films vary greatly, we have not set up a film warehouse.
