Faculty III plays a key role in several institutes, labs, and research groups at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HsH), with some even being initiated by the faculty itself.

Thematically, our research groups are primarily focused on two areas: data research, exemplified by the Institute Data|H, and media- and design-centered research projects, such as those conducted at the USE-LESS Center and the Film Institute.

USE–LESS Center for Sustainable Design Strategies

The USE–LESS Center for Sustainable Design Strategies consolidates the research activities of the Fashion, Product Design, and Interior Architecture programs at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Current focus areas include the exploration of sustainable and forward-thinking materials, the use of local resources, serial upcycling, and slow fashion. Through our design projects, we address the question of how to create products that are circular, resource-efficient, and aesthetically appealing.

Film Institute Hannover

The Film Institute Hannover evolved from the Cultural Archive – Media Documentation and Research Center, founded in 1995 at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
The Film Institute is a collaborative research facility involving Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, and Leibniz University Hannover.
