About the workshop
In the courses offered in the bookbinding workshop, students gain an insight into the craft of bookbinding. They learn more about paper and make their own book - in various work steps over several dates.
Accompanied by trained bookbinders, the students work independently in the courses.
Students are selected for the courses via the elective courses and the international study program.

Equipment and use by students
The bookbinding workshop is only open within the framework of the study programme electives offered.
A workshop briefing is always necessary in advance - for your own work safety. The workshop briefing is carried out by specialist staff.
A large manual cardboard scissor is located in the corridor area (bookbinding/printing workshop). It is accessible to students during university opening hours.
Other equipment is available for use in the courses:
Creaser, corner cutter, stack cutter, embosser, cardboard scissors ...
Thread stitching, adhesive binding, Japanese binding, book screws, folding techniques such as Leporello, colour cutting, experimental work ...
