About the workshop
The metal and plastics workshop can be used by any student without special prior knowledge. We will advise you on your plans, provide information on processes and production and show you how to use the workshops and machines.
Together with you, we will produce your prototype, your idea, your model. We will provide you with personal protective equipment, safety shoes, safety goggles and hearing protection. If you have any questions, please send an email to the workshop management.
We look forward to your questions, projects and ideas.

Various metals and plastics can be processed in the workshop.
- Bar profiles made of steel, aluminium and stainless steel (rustproof)
- Sheets of steel, aluminium and stainless steel (stainless)
- Various plastics as profiles and sheets
When planning the material requirements, it is best to talk to the workshop manager in advance. If material is not available in stock, it can be procured by the student or the workshop staff.
- Sawing (cape and mitre saw, band saw)
- Cutting (guillotine shears for sheet metal and hand lever shears)
- Grinding (various grinding and polishing jigs)
- Edging (bending bench for bending sheet metal)
- Turning (Semi-automatic lathe for the production of rounds)
- Milling (Semi-automatic milling machine)
- Bending (3 roller bending machine and various small bending devices)
- Drilling (3 standing drilling machines)
Thermoplastic sheets up to a size of approx. 500 x 500 mm can be pulled over thermoforming mould models to be made at the appropriate height using the vacuum process. This process can be used independently by experienced or instructed students.
In our painting room there is a spray booth with a dry filter extraction system. This is where students' models are painted. Acrylic and synthetic resin paints are permitted.
