Application Information for Applicants with Foreign Educational Certificates

Dear prospective students,

The uni-assist application portal for applications to non-restricted admission programs for the winter semester 2026/27 is still open until July 31, 2026.
For the Bachelor’s degree programs in the arts offered by Faculty III, you can still apply via uni-assist until July 15, 2026.

The application deadline for all other restricted-admission Bachelor’s degree programs as well as for Master’s degree programs for the winter semester 2026/27 has already passed.

Application Information for Prospective Students

If you received your educational qualifications in a foreign country, these must be examined for admission to higher education, regardless of your nationality.

This formal examination has been carried out by “uni-assist”, an institution that is operated jointly by the universities and is the work and service center for international study applications, since 1 May 2004.

The Hannover University of Sciences and Arts(HsH – Hochschule Hannover) accepts online-only applications via uni assist using non-certified copies of certificates.
An online application with uploaded documents is sufficient.

Application deadlines and special differences

Please be sure to observe the application deadlines.

15 November for the summer semester and 15 May for the winter semester
For all admission restricted courses and Master courses

31 May only for winter semester
For all artistic courses

15 July for winter semester and 15 January for summer semester
For all free admisson courses

So that it can be guaranteed that your application will be forwarded to Hochschule Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts in due time.

Exceptions to these deadlines:

For all Master’s programs in Faculty III:

Communication Management (MKO)

Television Journalism (MTV)

Design and Media (MDM)

the deadline for applications is March 15.

Only those prospective students who have submitted their complete application documents to uni-assist by March 15 and have had those documents evaluated and approved can be considered for the selection interviews for the above-mentioned study programs.

In addition, the following study programs also have special deadlines:

Bachelor Integrated Media & Communication (IMC)
- Apply in two steps
- deadline uni-assist 15 May
- deadline faculty III 15 May
Bachelor Nursing (dual)
- Application for 1st section of study nursing until 15 October.
- Application for 2nd section of study nursing until 15 December (Already in summer semester an application is necessary, as the placement test takes place at the beginning of April each year
Master „Entrepreneurship and Management Master Medium-Sized Company Enterprises (MMU) – apply until 15 July

Special differences for the following Bachelor’s degree programs, which require a test of the student’s special artistic aptitude:

Interior Design (BIA)
Product Design (BPD)
Fashion Design (BMO)
Scenography – Costume - Experimental Design (SKE)
Visual Journalism and Documentary Photography (BFO) bilingual
Visual Communication (BVK)
Media Design (BME)
