Sustainable quality of life (foodstuff)
The aim of this research cluster at Faculty II - Department of Bioprocess Engineering is to work together in five research teams to address questions of nutrition and safeguarding nutritional quality in the face of a steadily growing world population. The research takes into account social, ecological and economic aspects. The focus will also be on food safety and efficiency. It is also about researching how sustainability and ecological aspects can be reconciled with convenience trends.
The five research teams (microbiology/original production, milk technology, measurement technology, process technology, packaging technology) are integrated into a wider network of 10 universities as well as more than 60 companies and associations at home and abroad. The research spectrum ranges from primary production, animal welfare and animal production to perfect food packaging.
