English language skills at level B2 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages are considered an admission requirement. Proof is provided in the following ways:
a) Presentation of a certificate of achievement for (at least) the English 7 course (B2 CEFR) from the ZSW Language Centre at the Hochschule Hannover – University of Applied Sciences and Arts, or
b) Presentation of a certificate of achievement for a language course which proves the level B2 and was taken at a college or university. The language certificate must not be older than two years*, or
c) Presentation of proof of having successfully passed one of the following tests: Cambridge English Advanced: Level B2, Cambridge English Proficiency: Grade C, IELTS (academic): at least 6.5 points in all subjects, TOEFL (iBT): at least 80 points (TOEFL ID Code: 4782), TOEIC: 400-485 points (listening), 385-450 points (reading).
The original proof of the required language skills must be submitted at the latest at the time of enrolment.
* The date of graduation is applicable in this case, not the date of the course. (Example: Completion of course: 2016, graduation: 2018, application for Master’s course: 2019 - The language certificate is valid).
If you do not yet have a language certificate at the time of application, you can submit it later until enrolment. However, please submit the registration for the language test with your application documents. In this way, you show that you would like to acquire a language certificate and submit it later.
